Now that the weather seems to have turned warm over here I have been enjoying fruit-infused water. While I’ve tried many combinations some just don’t turn out right.
Here are my favorites:
So simple but so much flavor comes out of the raspberries into the water that it’s close to a juice 🙂 I mean look at that color!! My son enjoys watching the raspberries float to the top, he took this one:
Just a sprig of rosemary out of my garden and into my water, again such a simple way to enjoy more water in your day. You can also add some mint leaves to this one.
Ginger & Lemon
The key to this one is to remove the peel from your lemon as it makes it bitter and less refreshing. Depending on how much you like ginger will determine how much ginger vs. how much lemon you’ll want to put in. I put one slice and ginger with 1/4 of a lemon. I don’t bother removing the skin from the ginger as I’m just infusing it into the water. This one also gets bonus points for boosting your immune system (ginger) and helping detoxification (lemon).
Peach with Strawberries!
I tried just plain peach this time but haven’t tasted it yet so I’ll let you know if it’s better on it’s own or with the strawberries. This one has a more subtle flavor but it has a nice sweetness that you don’t get with the rosemary or ginger lemon. Something different once in awhile.
There are so many options out there for fruit infused bottles, the basic premise is that the fruit is contained in it’s own flow-through part of the bottle so the the flavors of the fruit can infuse into the water but you don’t drink up the fruit when you drink from it, it remains in it’s enclosed area. Alternatively, you can do what I’ve done for these photos and float the fruit overnight and strain it out before you take the bottle to go, I took my lemon ginger with me to work and didn’t bother with the straining, I guess it’s all about preference and ease. Straining obviously takes more work and I’m actually on the hunt for a proper bottle for my fruit infused water.
These are the ones I am considering:
They also have full pitchers which is nice for the whole family to enjoy. This is the one I want:
